Adjustable device for centering o-rings and symmetrical parts applicable to Drive model Automatic Hardness Tester



 
Gibitre’s centering device, compatible with Drive series automatic hardness testers, accelerates hardness testing of O‑rings and technical parts with chords from 0.6 to 10 mm and internal diameters up to 200 mm. Engineered for simple, repeatable measurement, it removes the uncertainty of manual alignment and shortens each test cycle.

Insert the specimen between the two positioning rods and use the knob to set the distance to the part’s chord. The integrated hundredth-reading dial indicator immediately confirms the set dimension, ensuring consistency across tests. A retaining clip secures correct positioning, even on curved geometries.

The magnetic coupling to the standard instrument plate enables installation and removal in seconds, keeping format changes quick and tidy. The result is faster, more reliable measurement on different materials and shapes—an effective addition to your quality-control tools that boosts productivity and result quality.

Universal Centring Device for O-Rings 
The centering device enables quick hardness tests to be carried out on O-rings and technical article with chord between 0.6 and 10 mm and Inner Diameter up to 200 mm.
To perform the test, the part is placed between the two positioning rods.
The adjustment knob allows the distance between the two rods to be set according to the chord of the o-ring or workpiece to be measured.
The distance between the rods is displayed on the centesimal dial indicator built into the device.
The retaining clip allows correct positioning of curved workpieces to be maintained
The device attaches to the standard instrument plate by magnetic fastening, which allows for quick installation and removal.


Use of the device 
The device is equipped with two vertical rods, a centesimal dial gauge that indicates the distance, and an adjustment knob that allows the distance to be adjusted according to the chord of the O-ring to be measured.
The user must:
- Set the distance between the rods to coincide with the chord of the O-ring
- Place the part to be measured in the middle of the rods
- In case the part to be measured is curved, the adjustment clip allows the part to be kept pressed on the device plate.

In the case of testing pieces with the same diameter, the operator simply needs to replace the pieces without making any further adjustment.




Installation of the device 
The device is applied to the standard plate of the instrument by magnetic fixing which allows its rapid installation and removal.

Using the device with flat specimens 
It is possible to perform hardness tests on flat specimens without the need to remove the device.
To meet this need. the device is equipped with a lever that allows you to lower the rods for O-ring placement so that you have a flat surface on which you can place your flat specimens.



Diaphragm centering device 
Enables Multiple Automatic testing of o-rings or round parts with external diameter between 4.5 and 75 mm.
Testing of samples with the same dimensions don't require re-centring.
Distance between support plate and diaphragm is adjustable to fit sample se 
Microcylinder centering device 
Permits quick positioning of symmetric parts without diameter limitation
Manual positioning is required between one test and the next
The height of the micro-cylinders can be adjusted according to the cross-section of the sample 
Centering device for tubes 
Permits to test rubber tubes with external diameter up to 50 mm
Manual positioning is required between one test and the next
