The cooling of the surfaces is necessary for the molding of thermoplastic materials because the material must be cooled to the solidification temperature before opening the mold.
The speed with which the mold is cooled influences the characteristics of the final product.
The ISO 293 standard defines the cooling speeds to be used.

The cooling is performed by means of integrated cooling platens and requires the connection to a water source or a chiller.

The molding cycles, which are entered via the press control panel, allow you to define the cooling mode by setting the Final Temperature and the Cooling Gradient.
In this way it is possible to define specific cooling modes based on the solidification temperature and the cooling rate required for the type of product.

The hot water used for the cooling must be cooled before being discharged.
The optional Thermal-insulated-stainless-steel Tank with 100 l capacity permits the temporary storage of the hot water discharged by the cooling system of Gibitre press.
The water coming from the cooling system is temporarily stored and mixed with the water inside the tank in order to reduce the temperature before being downloaded from the top of the tank with a standard drain hose.
The supply includes the tank, the thermal-insulated pipe for the connection with the press, the pipe for the connection to the water discharge.

The optional softener allows to limit the formation of limestone deposits inside the press cooling system.
