The calculation returns the IRHD Hardness in conformity with ISO 48-2 standard. The Hardness is obtained by measuring the indentation of the indentor after the application of the minor force for 5 seconds and the application of the main force for 30 seconds.
REFERENCE STANDARD: ISO 48-2 / ASTM D 1414
UNIT: IRHD points
RESOLUTION: 0.01 IRHD
CALCULATION PARAMETERS:
Test Time: t (the software permits to set even non standard test times)

The calculation returns the angle of the Regression Line of the Hardness-Vs-Time Curve plot in Logarithmic axes.
The angle coefficient provides usefull information about the visco-elastic behavior of the sample during the test. Measures performed on the same product can be used to compare the curing level of different samples or technical parts.
The result is obtained automatically during the standard execution of the hardness test.
UNIT: IRHD/sec
RESOLUTION: 0.01 IRHD/sec

The measure of the Hysteresis is performed by removing the main force at the end of the test time and measuring the sample recovery after the set test time.
If the sample has a completely elastic behaviour, the recovery will be complete and the hardness reading will be 100 IRHD. The actual reading at the end of the test provides an evaluation of the visco-elastic properties of the sample
The measure can be useful to compare the behaviour of different products.
The measurement time after the removal of the sample can be set in the test procedure.
The Hysteresis test is performed completely automatically by the instrument even with instruments performing multiple tests.
UNIT: IRHD
RESOLUTION: 0.01 IRHD

This calculation returns the Hysteresis Energy (ie the energy lost during the execution of the load and unload of the sample during the execution of the irhd hardness test).
The energy loss can be expressed as Energy (N*mm) or as % of the energy applied in the loading cycle.
