Overview
Stand-alone automatic hardness units are independent hardness measurement devices designed for the execution of hardness tests according to a specific hardness scale.
Stand-Alone automatic units have been designed to meet the requirements of research labs and for production control.

Available Hardness Scales
Available hardness scales are:
Shore A,
Shore D,
Shore A0,
Shore 00,
Shore AM (Micro)
IRHD-Micro,
IRHD-Normal,
IRHD-Hard,
IRHD-Low.

Accredia Calibration of the instrument
The instrument can be supplied with an ACCREDIA calibration certificate issued by the Accredia laboratory of Gibitre instruments.
The calibration is carried out according to the Technical Procedure approved by Accredia and in compliance with the requirements of the ISO 48-2 (IRHD), ISO 48-4 (Shore A) and ISO 868 (Shore D) standards.
The Calibration refers to:
• Dimensions of the Indentor and Annular foot
• Forces applied by the indentor and the annular foot
• Displacement of the indenter
• Duration of the test

Automatic Sample displacement
• The motorized ascent and descent movement of the specimen allows the test to be carried out automatically.
• The automatic rotation of the measurement plate makes it possible to carry out tests automatically at different points on the sample.
• The operator can set the number of tests to be performed automatically on the specimen and the angle of rotation between successive tests.

Gibitre Hardness Software
The automatic durometer control through the Software Hardness-Check allows to exploit all the potential of the instruments:
• Perform multiple tests automatically on the specimen
• Save all test results in the SQL database
• Compare the results with the tolerance limits
• Produce test reports
The PC control software allows multiple instruments to be used simultaneously. Each instrument is connected to the PC via the supplied USB cable.

Calculated Results: IRHD Hardness
The software allows you to prepare customized test procedures that include all the calculations required by the standards and product specifications. The dedicated page describes all the available calculations.

Calculated Results: SHORE Hardness
The software allows you to prepare customized test procedures that include all the calculations required by the standards and product specifications. The dedicated page describes all the available calculations.

Management of Test Results
The results and test curves of all the tests carried out are saved in the Gibitre SQL database and are available through the Datagest program.

Datagest is the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) which is always installed in combination with all Gibitre instrument-control programs.
The program is the collector for all the test result produced with the instruments connected and permits to manage the common Archives used by the instruments (Product List, Customer List, Tolerance limits, Order List, etc)

Industry 4.0 integration
The instrument and the software have been specifically developed to optimize integration with other environments.
The database in SQL format and the Gibitre_Company_Connect program allows you synchronize your company management software with Gibitre database and to speed up the identification of the tests and to use bar-code readers or similar devices.
The automatic logging service permits to send alarm information to the cloud-service platform of Gibitre Instruments in order to optimize the reaction times of the Service Support.

Test report
Can be printed or saved to pdf in one of the available languages. The format of the Test Report can be customized by the user.

Tolerance Limits
The Datagest program allows you to define specific tolerance limits for each Product, Customer, Test Procedure and Aging Treatment.
For each result to be calculated, tolerance limits and alarm limits can be defined.
The comparison between the results and the tolerance limits is carried out automatically at the end of each test: the test results are colored (Green, Yellow or Red) based on the outcome of the comparison with the limits.
The outcome of the check is saved in the database together with the results.

Statistics of ongoing tests
The programs automatically process the statistical analysis of the tests in progress by calculating:
• Maximum
• Minimum
• Average
• Median
• Standard deviation
• Cp
• Cpk
In addition, the Gaussian curve relative to the results is shown together with the tolerance limits to immediately highlight the progress of the tests in progress.
The Datagest program allows you to process more detailed statistics related to the saved results and to represent X and R Charts by grouping data by order, batch, batch, date, etc.

Standard Calibration service for IRHD Hardness Tester

The device is applied to the standard plate of the instrument by magnetic fixing which allows its rapid installation and removal.

Diaphragm centering device for O-rings
The device permits to perform automatic multiple tests on O-ring or round parts with external diameter between 4.5 and 75 mm. The device consist of a diaphragm to fix the external diameter of the o-ring and of a gauge-meter for the adjustment of the position of the center of the diaphragm.
The use is very simple:
1) Open the diaphragm and put the o-ring in the center of the device.
2) Close the diaphragm using the open-close leverage until the o-ring is fixed in the center of the device
3) Use the gauge-meter of adjust the position of the device according to the diameter and cross-section of the o-ring
4) Start a multiple test session to make automatically tests in different points of the sample.
To test several o-rings with the same dimensions, you only need to replace the o-ring on the device without any further regulation.

Centring Device for cylinders and Hoses
Cantering system for the measure of Micro-irhd hardness on the outer surface of rubber tubes with maximum external diameter 50 mm (other dimension on request).
No preparation of the sample to keep it flat is needed.
To perform a test, you simply need to place a piece of the hose on the device and press start.

Extension of sample holder
Extension of sample holder for Automatic Hardness tester with 300 mm diameter. The support, made of Aluminium, can be added to the standard sample holder to increase the bearing surface for the testing of big-size samples.
