ISO 9026
Raw rubber or unvulcanized compounds — Determination of green strength

ISO 9026 establishes procedures for measuring tensile strength and elongation at break in vulcanized elastomers and plastics. The standard defines a tensile test method where standardized specimens are subjected to controlled stretching until failure, quantifying both the maximum force sustained and the percentage extension achieved. It applies to various elastomeric materials including natural and synthetic rubbers, as well as selected polymers. By specifying precise specimen geometry, testing speed, and environmental conditions, the standard ensures reliable and reproducible results across different laboratories and enables meaningful comparison of material performance.
