ISO 178 Plastics -- Determination of flexural properties
ISO 178 specifies test procedures for determining the flexural properties of rigid and semi-rigid plastics, including flexural modulus and flexural strength. Applicable to thermoplastic, thermoset, and composite materials, the standard employs a three-point bending method where rectangular specimens are loaded until fracture or a specified deformation is achieved. This test provides critical mechanical data for evaluating polymer behavior under bending stress, supporting material selection and qualification in structural applications.
