ISO 1431-3 specifies test procedures for evaluating ozone resistance in elastomers and rubber products subjected to static or dynamic stress conditions. The standard applies to vulcanized rubber materials and finished rubber products, assessing their capacity to withstand oxidative degradation caused by ozone exposure. Testing is conducted in controlled chambers with defined ozone concentrations, temperature, and humidity parameters, measuring crack formation and mechanical property deterioration over time to determine material durability in ozone-rich environments.
