EN 12228 specifies the test method for determining tensile strength and elongation at break of elastomeric materials, including vulcanized rubbers and elastomers. The standard applies to test specimens obtained from both finished products and raw compound mixtures, using uniaxial tension testing until specimen failure. The procedure employs standardized specimens and universal testing equipment to measure maximum load capacity and corresponding deformation. These mechanical property measurements are fundamental for assessing material quality and performance suitability across diverse industrial applications.
