New Products: laboratory press controlled with Touch Screen PLC

Touch Screen controller for Laboratory Press
The new PLC controller has been developed both to improve the ease of use of the machine and to add new features for the moulding of rubber, thermoplactics and special materials.

Moulding of thermoplastc materials (Lab Press with plates fitted with cooling circuit):
The most important improvement related with the use of the PLC controler is the possibility to set an automatic moulding cycle that includes pre-heating of the thermoplastic, closure of the mould, start of the cooling of the mould with controlled cooling speed and opening of the mould when the set final temperatura has been reached.

Moulding of Rubber
The new controller permits to set easily a moudling cycle that includes the closure of the mould with 'degasage' cycles and the opening of the mould after the set moulding time.
A buzzer warns the operator that the moudling cycle is finished.

Moudling of special materials (Lab Press fitted with regulation of closure force)
The control of the closure force of the plates permits to use the machine for special applications and prototyping.
For example, the machine is used succesfully for the joining of multy-layer materials where a known force and a defined temperature need to be used, for preparing samples for glue or adhesives, etc.

The new Gibitre Press Logger program permits to connect to the press controller using a USB/Serial port and to store continuously the working condition of the press (temperature, and pressure) versus time.
